Our Goal

Empower youth by connecting them to positive adult role models and developing them in these four areas:

We achieve these goals using six strategies

  • Establish Community-Based Partnerships

  • Recruit and Train Volunteers

  • Develop Indigenous Leadership

  • Implement Best-Practices Programs

  • Provide and Coordinate Supportive Services to Ensure Wrap-Around Care

  • Secure Additional Resources for the Community

Our History

  • Healing Place Church (HPC) was established in Baton Rouge in 1993 with a mission to be “a healing place for a hurting world.” HPC established a reputation for caring for the poor of our city and working together with other organizations to meet the needs of our community. In 2008, Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church (WABC) invited HPC to share its facility that was located in the 70805 zip code area. Once HPC moved into the building, the church expanded its outreach and community service projects throughout the area.

  • In September 2010, Healing Place Serve incorporated, began operating additional program out of the Dream Center, and assumed responsibility for many of the ongoing programs. HP Serve currently supports a comprehensive array of services for homeless/at-risk youth and trafficking victims.
